In the Spring of 1970, tragedy struck the campus of Kent State University, in Kent, Ohio. What began as a planned demonstration in response to President Nixon’s announcement of the American military’s incursion of Cambodia ended in the murder of four students. In this episode, we will break down the timeline of events during that fateful May weekend, and delve into the investigation that resulted in a number of lasting changes to our society that were spurred by this Ohio tragedy.
