Relay events tend to involve four people running very quickly round an oval track. The Running out of Time relay is on a different scale entirely. Beginning on 30 September 2022 in Glasgow, Scotland (COP 26 host city), it will see a baton travel 7,767km to Sharm el-Sheikh, Eqypt (COP27 host city). The record-breaking relay, which will go through 18 countries and take 18 days, is trying to raise awareness about the climate emergency. Co-founder of the event Jamie Hay tells us more.
