The Supreme Court overturned Roe V. Wade, and abortion became illegal in Texas. (Even though the “Trigger law” has yet to go into effect, older Texas laws may now be enforceable. In this episode, Lisa Gray addresses the post-Roe world in Texas, and also breaks down how people in search of an abortion must now navigate the landscape.
Also, regarding the endless stream of brutal temps in Houston – what does it mean for our city, long term? Can we find a way to combat the damage the heat causes? Contributor Jaime Gonzalez stops by to discuss the changes we should make to fight the heat waves. (Jaime shared with us a handy heat map, too - Go here! H3AT.org )
As for the Roe V. Wade decision, here are the sites that Lisa discussed in her intro:
Aid Access
Texas laws and getting abortion drugs by mail
TOR - the safe browser
Signal Messenger- Speak Freely
And here's a helpful article about The Trigger Law, and why it's not gone into effect: Texas' Trigger Law Has Yet To Take Effect, So Why Are Abortion Clinics Closing Now?
