Leading communities toward healing and reconciliation.
Our guest Ganesha Martin is an executive legal thought leader committed to improving the culture of public safety across the country for the betterment of our communities and those who protect and serve. From senior roles within the Baltimore City Police Department to the Mayor’s Office, she has leveraged her positions to develop and implement compliance and risk mitigation strategies, crime and violence reduction plans and legislative priorities, and to transform community and police relations. In 2019 she was one of 40 community policing experts invited to Nairobi, Kenya to share community policing strategies during the Convening on Civilian Police Reform by Open Societies Foundation. She was also selected as Top 40 under 40 by the International Chiefs of Police and the Baltimore Community Mediation Center’s advocate of the year. Martin’s expert commentary has been featured in The New York Times, The Baltimore Sun, CNN, and the Washington Post among others.
“If they [women] were put in positions to affect and influence culture…we would be in a place where we [law enforcement] would have more trust with our community…”
– Ganesha Martin
