The routine nature of England's qualification victories under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel have potentially become so routinely expected that the gloss is taken off them somewhat by the lack of surprise. To get nine straight clean sheets at any level is impressive and heading into next summer's World Cup, it's fair to say that the Three Lions are in a VERY good place.
Elsewhere, there was a jaw-dropping win for the Republic of Ireland over Portugal, which gives them a live chance of leapfrogging Hungary and making it into the play-off stage, whilst Norway continued to hammer in the goals (Haaland bagging another brace) to all but qualify them for a World Cup for the first time in 28 years.
Happy Friday.
