The PETE collaborative is a meeting of (mostly) US PETE professors and graduate students who meet monthly to discuss key issues in the field. This is the audio recording from the 2022 February meeting.
Title: Developing Innovative PETE Programs to Envision a Favorable Future for the Field
Description: Aligned with the theme of #ForTheLoveofHPE week, this meeting of the PETE collaborative will focus on the role of PETEfaculty members and programs in developing a more favorable future for physical education. Fueled by the need to be innovative, we will discuss best-practice strategies that are being used in some PETEprograms to more effectively work with schools and prepare preservice teachers. Program representatives will be invited to share strategies found to be effective in their contexts; time for discussion and idea sharing will be prioritized. A central question address will be: how can we create better PETE programs today to prepare better teachers for tomorrow? Come with your ideas to share!
