Umbilical Granuloma: Treatment with Common Table Salt - Episode 6

This month the Institute of Health Visiting have updated their 'Good Practice Points' and 'Top Tips for Parents' on Umbilical Granulomas, continuing to recommend treatment with common table salt for umbilical granuloma. Health Visitors are well placed to identify these granulomas and advice parents on how to treat these, preventing unnecessary and potentially harmful treatment with silver nitrate. Jenny and Amy discuss what Health Visitors need to know to advise parents confidently on this, including the practicalities of how to apply the salt and common parent concerns with this.
