From the Heart with Rachel Brathen
Society & Culture
In this episode Rachel is joined by one of her best friends, Jessica Taylor.
Although good friends with Rachel, Jess honestly discusses her dislike for the online yoga world. Having quit her job as a nurse, Jessica took a teacher training and immersed herself in teaching yoga, pursuing her dream of becoming a studio owner. Discussing the many pitfalls and challenges people rarely talk about, Rachel and Jessica discuss the danger of portraying an overly glamorized view of life as a yoga teacher. For most people, it’s not all butterflies and rainbows! They talk about the skewed image social media creates and the perfect life online that doesn't really exist. More importantly, Jess teaches us how to handle it when a dream doesn't work out - and how to separate your passion from your true calling.
Tune in for an episode on social media influencers and the gimmicky side of yoga that will be sure to make you laugh… while Rachel and Jess try to keep the inappropriate stories at bay.
