Herbalist + podcaster Miranda Aponte joins us today to talk about how plants invite us to take our power back and remember how to listen to our bodies. In this conversation, we talk about go-to herbs for the skin + the magical simplicity of a facial steam. We also talk about the complexity of plants and how they show up differently for different people; and we go on a meta journey into some of the core differences between contemporary Western medicine and plant medicine. No either/or conversations here, but Miranda shares about why it's important to take our power back when it comes to our bodies and how plants can help us learn to listen to ourselves, the natural world and build that bridge towards healing and trust.
"Plants are a whole beings like us. They are complex. They're multi-dimensional. They're a spiritual being as much as they're a physical being. They have different relationships to each of us."
Miranda Aponte is a boriqua curandera and the founder of Mariposa. Mariposa was created with the purpose of sharing and uplifting the intersections of healing, eco and social co liberation with reverence.
