Episode 151: Chaplin (1992)

This week at The Film Club we’re talking about the legend that is Chaplin! This biopic about Charlie Chaplin spans almost 80 years of his life. The film is told through an elder Charlie Chaplin as he’s working on his autobiography and we start with his poverty stricken childhood which would reveal his talent for the stage ultimately leading him to becoming a great vaudevillian actor. Charlie’s time in vaudeville gets the attention of an American Director who sends for Chaplin to come to the United States to become an actor. It’s during this time we see Chaplin create the character of The Tramp and begin his decent not only into fame but becoming a global icon. Join us as we dive into the world of Chaplin.
