Over 100 people died in the U.S. yesterday due to COVID-19, bringing total fatalities to just under 600. With cases approaching 46,000, The World Health Organization said the U.S. has the potential to become the new epicenter of the global crisis, reports The Washington Post. The Senate remains in discussions on a 2 Trillion dollar stimulus bill. Hawaii, New Mexico and Oregon have joined 13 other states and cities with stay at home orders, effecting 43% of the U.S. population. The Governor of Florida is requiring anyone on a flight originating in New York or New Jersey to self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. The IOC will hold a call later today to discuss potential postponement of The 2020 Summer Olympics.

The Secretary General of the United Nations is asking warring groups to hold a cease fire to help stop the spread of the virus, relays The Washington Post. The United Kingdom is on lockdown, with all non-essential business closed and residents told to stay home. Thailand has declared a “State of Emergency”. Italy will allow police to use drones through April 3rd, to monitor movement during the lockdown, according to CNN. Iran will extend the temporary release of 85,000 prisoners, for 25 more days. China plans to lift the lockdown on Wuhan on April 8th. The remainder of Hubei province will be open and lift the majority of restrictions on Wednesday.
