Sometimes, the Bible shares topics and stories that can make us uncomfortable. That discomfort can be in relationship to God...or about ourselves. This story about Ananias and his wife, Saphira, seems to do both for me. In this Bible Talks episode, we continue our journey through the book of Acts. The story comes just after the community begins to share all their goods and take care of the needy. That can be a challenging story itself, but when you look at Acts 5:1-11...well, there are questions we could ask. I will be the first to tell you that this text does not come easy to me in its interpretation or acceptance. In fact, it could make me question the love of God. But, after spending much time in it, previously and this week, I thought I would at least share some of my thoughts on it.
So, grab that coffee, have a seat at my table, and let's chat on this Table Talks episode of Coffee with Keith.
