Joining us is James Hillemeyer, vice president of the Wisconsin Honey Producers Association and co-owner of LB Works out of Plover, a beekeeping operation that travels out of state for pollination services. James has a national perspective on what’s happening in the industry, having served with both the American Beekeeping Federation and the American Honey Producers Association. He’s passionate about making sure when a label says “honey,” it really means honey.

Specific risks include using turkey fryers (never used with frozen turkey), not inspecting or properly using heating sources, and improperly using extension cords or gas-fired appliances indoors. He also says to check the dates on smoke alarms, as they have a lifespan of only 8-10 years
