Transition Wild - Sportsmen’s Empire
Sports:Wilderness
Today with we talk with Adam Gall, owner and founder of Timber To Table Guide Service about their ongoing efforts to showcase hunting in an all-encompassing view of conservation, wildlife management and food. Adam has a background as a firefighter/forestry technician, wolf biologist and a high school science teacher which has helped shape his educational focus to showcase hunting as so much more than the “kill”.
In addition to guiding paid clients on public and private land for elk and mule deer in unit 61 and 62 in Colorado, they are also making a positive impact for the future of hunting through their “Hunting For Sustainability” course. This weekend workshop is in partnership with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers where they bring in a group of 10-15 college students who have never hunted before to learn about conservation, firearm safety, field processing, and the history of wildlife management.
We also cover their partnership with Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation where they host participants from Conservation Leaders for Tomorrow. Each year, they select a few individuals to participate in their first big-game hunt who will be working in the field of wildlife management for a career path with the goal of them making management decisions based on a real-life hunting experiences.
