Today, we’re picking the brains of one of the most influential figures of the modern English game.
David Dein was on the board at Arsenal for 24 years and was a significant voice at the FA for many of them, too. In that time, he brought Arsène Wenger to England, helped assemble one of the greatest sides of all time, and forced through the commercial behemoth that is the Premier League. Arsenal fans have also blamed him for bringing the Kroenke family into the fold.
He’s certainly been at the heart of a lot of change down the years. So today, we’re asking what he makes of the game now: from its owners, to its Super League, to its money.
