Nick Hornby is the author of many novels, including High Fidelity, About a Boy, Juliet, Naked and others, and now he has a new book Just Like You which I thoroughly enjoyed and is out in paperback.
He is also the author of Fever Pitch, a book on his life as a devoted supporter of Arsenal Football Club and many of his books have been turned into iconic films. In 2009 he wrote the screenplay for the film An Education, in (2014) the screenplay for Wild — and in (2015) the screenplay Brooklyn. In this episode we talk about creative advice, thoughts on rejection, being published, why he wanted to write diverse characters in his new novel Just Like You, a book about connecting with each other despite how polarised the world seems to be right now. Thanks for being here, I hope you enjoy our conversation!
