Last month, investigators say 13 dogs had to be rescued from a property in Missouri after police discovered an alleged dog-fighting ring. This raid comes more than a decade after the largest dog-fighting bust in United States history, referred to as the Missouri 500. One investigator who played a role in that case tells KSDK Reporter Christine Byers the recent bust shows dog-fighting is still a secret subculture.
