Most fans have an overview of their favourite artists. Cultural curators have an overview of artists, their music, how it works, connects with fans, and play a pivotal roll in taking an artist’s music to a bigger audience. Tuma Basa is the Director of Black Music and Culture at YouTube. Prior to this he created the Rap Caviar playlist at Spotify, and previously worked at MTV and BET. As a Cultural Curator Tuma has moved with the times and moved the digital needle. His perspective on where things are and where things are going is unrivalled. DJ Semtex caught up with Tuma for the latest episode of the ‘Hip Hop Raised Me’ podcast.
