Despite finishing the last of their personal cannabis supply in Inverness, and not smoking anything since, Marcus had been suffering from continual bouts of paranoia (although it took much convincing from Tild for him to accept it for what is was). He heard conspiratorial chatter in service station bathrooms and saw the shadows of figures looming over the motorhome when they were parked in entirely secluded places.'
