Welcome to another episode of the Signpost Inn Podcast! Our guest today is Dr. Piotr Malysz a professor of History and Doctrine and Samford's Beeson Divinity School and a personal friend of Brandon's. Growing up in a region of southern Poland that was deeply influenced by the Lutheran reformation, Piotr holds a deep love for the intersection of history and theology.
Today's conversation focuses on Dr. Malysz's article "On Death, Dying, and Dying Well." Piotr shares his perspective on death as a dehumanizing condition that leads us to live for "bare survival." Brandon and Piotr unpack some of our attempts to get out from under death's influence. But ultimately, the gospel phenomena of true life that God offers us in Christ proves to be the only way to thwart death. Piotr beautifully portrays the way in which "God for me" changes everything and allows us to live life freely.
