"If you love me, you will keep my Commandments." These words could feel very crushing if read by themselves. But Jesus also promises to not leave us as orphans. Jesus, through the work of the Spirit, brings us into the family and loves us, not because of what we do, but because of who we are - Children of God. God doesn't need our good works, but our neighbor does.
