Top Dance Songs of 2015 Volume 5

As we round off with the 5th and final volume of the Top Dance Songs of 2015, I find myself reflecting on the year gone by, a year of mixed impressions in the dance music scene. Looking back, 2014 was a year of transition where new forms of house music emerged from the underground and seized the mainstream. Yet, 2015 was seemingly a year of complacency where artists and producers seemed content to ride the wave of popularity rather than pushing the boundaries of their sound. That's not to say that 2015 was without its highlights. Among the Top Dance Songs of 2015, one standout track was "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars. Released late in the previous year, this track brought back nostalgic sounds reminiscent of The Time, proteges of Prince, with a James Brown-inspired vibe. Its immense popularity defied all expectations, proving that artists can step away from the house music trend of the moment and strike gold by betting on something they genuinely believe in. The final volume of the Top Dance Songs of 2015 focuses on the best house music of the year, interspersed with a sprinkle of other genres. If your favorite songs are missing from these five sets, don't worry. They might just appear in the upcoming New Year's Dance Party mix 'Blow Your Own Horn.'
