The New York Art Quartet was a free jazz ensemble, originally made up of saxophonist John Tchicai, trombonist Roswell Rudd, drummer Milford Graves and bassist Lewis Worrell, that came into existence in 1964 in New York City and initially lasted for just over a year. Worrell was replaced by Reggie Workman in 1965. Louis Moholo replaced Graves for a European Tour in 1965 with bassist Finn Von Eyben standing in for Workman. On this show music from their short lived career interspersed with cuts from some of the band members.
