How to Stop Importing Jihadists

Amidst all the thrashing over President Trump’s executive orders pausing immigration from several failed and/or hostile nations, their intended purpose has largely been obscured.  That’s because anti-Trump politicians, journalists and judges don’t want us focused on this initiative’s central idea, which is to stop importing jihadists – a proposition that enjoys overwhelming public support. 

That policy was the focus of a friend-of-the-court brief that I and other national security experts filed last week in connection with the Supreme Court’s consideration this fall of Mr. Trump’s immigration pause.  

We need to have a basis for filtering out actual or potential jihadists so that we don’t add to the numbers of them already here.  We believe that filter should be an ideological one: If you are a foreign Sharia-supremacist – and therefore wish to replace our Constitution, freedoms and Republic with your totalitarian program – stay home.
