Nobody enjoys receiving bad news. If a police officer or minister knocks on our door, we generally prepare ourselves for bad news.
As we continue our series in the Atlantic Gospel Chapel Statement of Faith, we come to the very topic of bad news. According to our statement of faith:
We Believe – man was created in the image of God, but in Adam’s sin, the human race fell. As a result, man is alienated from God and is utterly unable to remedy his own lost
condition.
The Biblical teaching on sin is key to understanding the state of man, why we are here, and why the world is the way it is. But the doctrine of sin is also key to understanding and appreciating the good news of the Gospel. And in order to understand the Gospel, we must first understand and accept the nature of sin and its effects.
Thus, in today's lesson, we will examine what the Scripture says about:
