July 10, 1962, was the launch date of Telstar I, the first communication satellite, and the technological ancestor of everything the AotKP crew does to put their podcast together. The same year, Joe Meek, the first independent record producer in the UK, wrote an instrumental named for the satellite. It sold five million copies worldwide and proved that a British act could hit #1 in the USA, which was not lost on the Beatles and every other British Invasion band.
Why are we telling you this? Because in 2008, Nick Moran wrote and directed a biopic of that music producer and in 2020, one of the Attackers contributed to Patreon on the level that let them give the podcast crew a movie to tape a commentary track. Thanks to slightly vague wording in the Patreon level, it turns out that the movie to watch doesn't have to be a horror flick, though Meek's music--and life--veered into horror territory more than once.
