The thing about white privilege is that white people don’t see it. “White privilege” doesn’t mean your life hasn’t been hard, it simply means that your skin color isn’t one of the things making it harder.
This series is meant to share experiences of real people who have experienced racism and still experience it. The goal is to shine a light so that we ALL see it and take actionable steps to do something about it.
Raised as a white Anglo Saxon protestant, Pat Iyer broke cultural, religious, and racial barriers when she married a South Indian Brahmin Hindu in 1970.
Raj and Pat Iyer have been married 50 years. They raised their 2 sons in a lily-white New Jersey community. This discussion is about how that affected their children.
Pat is an entrepreneur, nurse, and author of 50 books. Business people who want to build their businesses with a book work with Pat in her role as a book coach, editor and ghostwriter. Reach her at her website called www.patiyer.com .
