I used to think it was all the great things that happened in my life - my wins, my successes, that would connect and endear me to others. I used to think that it was happiness that leads to talent.
But after revisiting a 1964 interview with Christopher Plummer who passed away this week (best known for his role as Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music) I was reminded, maybe it’s actually out of pain and sadness that most talent and deep personal connection grow out of.
