Have you ever said, “I don’t believe in God?”
When I was in elementary school I used to tell my dad that just about everyday. I know I did when it came to going to church or CCD.
I would say I can’t see God. He would say something like you can’t see “love” or the “wind”, but no matter what he said I wasn’t listening.
Steve Jobs says, “you can only connect the dots looking backwards.”
Well I’ve been connecting the dots for sometime now. Maybe that’s part of the aging process. Who knows?
What I do know is although I don’t share bible verses or quote scripture often, but my faith in humanity is driven by my faith in a higher being.
This morning my wife Tonya shared a book she read over the weekend titled: Caught Red Handed written by our mutual friend John W. Roberts.
I’m only a few pages in, but between every call this morning I seem to be drawn to read a few more pages. Maybe it’s like when a stranger sat next to John at the airport and God spoke to John.
Maybe it’s the fact that the very first chapter is titled: I Don’t Believe in God and I was 8 years old all over again fussing at my dad that I don’t want to go to church.
Dad thank you for loving me enough to share your faith even when I wasn’t ready to listen. I’m listening now.
