More on Martin.
My name is Martin Vödisch, and I'm a professional self-defense instructor. While teaching how to deal with violence, I incorporate the needs of the individual. Not everybody needs to be (or wants to be) a hardcore fighter. Staying safe is about understanding how violence operates and implementing effective counter-measures: Awareness, communication skills, how to present yourself to the outside world or maybe even some lifestyle choices. Everybody can learn to stay safe.
I started learning Krav Maga 13 years ago and have trained different martial arts and combatives for many years. On this journey, I learned that being a good fighter doesn't necessarily translate to being safe. That made me study violence from every angle. Criminology, biology, social structures, cultural norms, personality styles, self-defense laws and of course the physical application of force all play a role. Violence is a part of human psychology, and it can happen to anybody. We live in a very safe country, but in the moment of danger, the only person really capable of helping you is yourself. I will teach you how to do that.
