For generations, Indigenous communities have gathered in circles—spaces of learning, healing, and connection. In the unceded territory of Renfrew County, a new circle has formed. Nenaawateg, meaning “a hub” or “the centre of a network” in Algonquin, is an Indigenous-led initiative dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming space for Indigenous Peoples to gather, reclaim their cultural heritage, and educate the broader community about Indigenous traditions and contemporary issues.
