Finally, a Benghazigate Select Committee

Finally, the House of Representatives is going to establish a select committee to conduct a proper, concerted and, hopefully, conclusive investigation into the Benghazigate scandal. It’s about time.

For over a year, Speaker John Boehner had steadfastly resisted calls for such a committee by the overwhelming majority of his Republican colleagues led by Congressman Frank Wolf. The tipping point came last week, however, when the stalwart conservative organization, Judicial Watch, secured government emails confirming what has long been suspected:

The White House deliberately misled Congress and the American people about the attack in Benghazi and withheld subpoenaed information from the legislative branch.

Now, we need Rep. Trey Gowdy and other former prosecutors to lead this investigation and hold accountable both the jihadists who perpetrated the attack and those here who enabled it.
