She grew up in a home of fifteen people in Oakland, California. She and her sisters Bonnie, June and Ruth all discovered the joy of music at a young age while dealing with challenging times. Along the way the sisters would encounter racism and discrimination, but never permitting it stop them. There would be triumphs and struggles, joy and deep sorrow. Together they become a groundbreaking group that paved the way for women in the music Industry all the while making history along the way.
