2 Chron 13-14 summarizes the battles between the rebel tribes of Judah led by Jerobaom and Judah led by Abijah in Jerusalem. The Chronicler gives theological commentary for the original to trust that God would send a king, the Son of David, to rescue the people. Abijah and Asa's trust in the Lord to fight the battles pointed forward to the Lord Jesus, the true King.
In John 12:1-26, we see Jesus declares he is the long awaited Son of David who will be their true king, He declares it without saying a word but by riding a donkey on a familiar path into Jerusalem. It's glorious good news as we read of the triumphal entry for the fourth time in our bible reading journey! See also Matthew 21; Mark 11; and Luke 19.
