The Supreme Court did it again. For the second time in six days, it bowed to Islamists at the expense of American rights and/or interests.

Last week, it said businesses could be forced to submit to shariah-adherent dress codes for women. This week, it struck down a law allowing Americans born in Jerusalem to have their passports show their birthplace as Israel.

The court’s majority manufactured a constitutional pretext for the president to ignore a law he didn’t like. Unfortunately, President Obama doesn’t need any encouragement to disregard federal statutes.

More to the point, Israel’s capital is – and always has been – Jerusalem. Pretending otherwise is not a matter of redefining the constitutional balance of powers. The practical effect is submission to Islamic supremacists determined to destroy the Jewish State – and it’s a scandal.
