Nothing is worse than missing a good business opportunity other than misplaying the fallout from missing that opportunity. In business and in life, hindsight is always 50/50 and sometimes we realize after the fact that we missed an opportunity. Greg Taylor offers these tips to recover and grow from a missed opportunity.

First things first, dwelling over a missed opportunity will not change the outcome. As much as we wish we would have recognized the opportunity, moving forward and learning from your mistake, so you do not repeat it, is key. Next, position yourself to make the changes so that the mistake is not made again. And the most important tip is to not go chasing the missed opportunity. It already happened. Let it live in the past because sometimes going after that opportunity can derail you from the progress you are making in other areas and could potentially create new or more problems.

So if you have missed a potential opportunity, recognize the problem, make the necessary changes so you do not repeat the mistake and don’t try to change or control the outcome.
