In this episode of The Bend, I had the pleasure of speaking with Robert Bills, a finance, art, and entertainment professional who has taken a remarkable turn in his life to focus on animal welfare. Robert shared his incredible journey from being a bond trader and Off-Broadway producer to founding Chappy & Friends, an incubator for animal welfare projects. Inspired by his experience adopting Chappy, a puppy mill breeding dog, Robert has dedicated himself to addressing animal overpopulation, abuse, and exploitation.

With an impressive background that includes an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago and humane education studies at the Humane Society Academy, Robert brings a unique perspective to his mission. During our conversation, he explained the challenges he's faced, the innovative fiscal sponsorship model that Chappy & Friends offers, and how veterinary practices can tap into this resource to support animals in need.
