SBH Mother/Baby Department has embarked on an innovative endeavor to improve patient health outcomes entitled Centering Pregnancy program, a group-based prenatal care model. Caroline (Carly) Wilson, CNM and SBH’s Centering Pregnancy coordinator provides an overview about the program. Institutions that have implemented the program see a decrease in the rate of preterm and low weight babies, increased rates of breastfeeding, and improved immunization rates.
