Comic Book Couples Counseling Podcast
Arts:Books
This week, we close out our conversation regarding Arthur & Mera by jumping back to The New 52 with "Aquaman: Sea of Storms" written by Jeff Parker & illustrated by Paul Pelletier & friends. We find our royal couple in a period of transition, still reeling from the catastrophic events placed on them by Geoff Johns. Parker brings Aquaman back to basics, pitting the Atlantian against krackens, Hercules, high school reunions, and Swamp Thing. Arthur & Mera's relationship continues to be a push & pull between the land & the sea. Using Dr. Sue Johnson's "Love Sense" as our guide, we finally determine whether or not this couple should remain together. And yes, we talk a little about the recent revelatory events that have occurred under the stewardship of Kelly Sue DeConnick.
