Alex and Chace are back with another episode of the MnM Hockey Podcast! Today, they take a look at the 2022-23 NHL Awards as we approach the mid-season mark. Both guys have written down who they would have as winners for each award if the season were to end today. Starting with the Calder, the guys surprisingly have a similar list. However, that is one of the last awards for a while you can say that about.
They go through all the major awards including the Selke, Hart, Vezina, and Norris. The guys have also made up their own award. They are naming it, the Tage Thompson most improved award. Given to a player that they have deemed most improved vs what was expected heading into the season. Trying to focus on underlying numbers instead of just someone with a high shooting percentage, the guys give an interesting list of names.
