We’re back! In Episode 302, Trev and AJ share a very important announcement before AJ and Jasmin sit down for the first of an in-depth conversation with writer, director, and animator Jorge R. Gutierrez (The Book of Life, Kung Fu Space Punch).
In Part 1: Jorge’s origin story—and yes, we do mean for that to sound like this guy’s a superhero. From his beginnings as a child of two artist parents, to the unexpected way he got into CalArts, to building his production company out of everything he could fit into two shopping carts and drag off the Sony lot (true story!), Jorge’s history is one you have to hear to believe. And if you’re looking for nuggets of wisdom, look no further. This one is packed full of ‘em. Truly one for the books.
