A Pivotal Presidential Call with Bibi

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. 

In a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Sunday, President Trump broke sharply with his predecessor by restoring warm relations with our most important Mideast ally – relations seriously and deliberately damaged by Barack Obama.

A brief official “readout” of the phone conversation indicates that, in addition to inviting Israel’s premier to the White House next month, the President pledged to join forces in fighting radical Islamic terrorism which, in his inaugural address, he vowed to “eradicate…from the face of the earth.” He also restored the United States’ historic stance that “peace between Israel and the Palestinians can only be negotiated directly between the two parties.”

In so doing, President Trump has also signaled to friends and foes worldwide that, under his leadership, it will once again be better to be a friend of the United States than an adversary.
