Voice Actor Extraordinaire Brian Lee joins Linda on these two Voiceover Gurus podcast episodes. Since they can’t stop talking, we broke it up into two episodes. Linda and Brian discuss trailers, how he performs them, and how they are run and cast. They also delve a little into AI and voiceover life in general. It’s pretty much as real as it gets since they have been good friends for 30 years.
About Brian Lee: (In his own words)
My interest in radio started at the at the age of 13. At age 15, I had a part-time job at the local radio station.
At age 18, I had a full-time job as an on-air disc jockey.
At 19, I started writing and producing radio commercials.
At 20, I became a senior manager at a radio station.
At 21, I moved to a larger radio market and continued as a department head.
At age 22, I started my own production company.
Before age 24, I had built two digital recording studios.
At age 25, I moved into sound design, post production, recording, mixing, and voiceover.
At age 28, I got a national booking agent for voiceover.
In 2010, I sold my production company to focus exclusively on voiceover.
Today, I have voiced hundreds of movie trailers, hundreds of thousands of television promos, and well over 1 million pages of copy. I have worked for every major network, studio, trailer house and syndicator.
Every day, I can be found in one of my voiceover studios, honing my craft, reaching and expanding to become a better version of myself.
If it all ended tomorrow, I can say that my dream came true. I’ve done exactly what I’ve set out to do. Be one of the most recognized voices in the world. I’m certainly the luckiest person I know.
