Jesus said "only one thing is necessary." The little village of Bethany was a place for Jesus to rest. Where Mary worshipped at his feet. Bethany saw the dead raised and shouted Hosanna to God in the Highest! May all our lives be like Bethany.
**Clarification. Mary of Bethany broke open her alabaster jar to anoint Jesus. However the Bible does not say Mary of Bethany had been a sinful woman. The woman in Luke 7 was describe as having a sinful past. It's possible Mary of Bethany was simply young and unmarried.
