Alex rides beside him, replaying his awkward almost-date with Tina while helping plan the quietest way onto school grounds. Together they hike through bitter North Dakota wind, skirt lights and cameras, and slip into the academy’s old barn, where horses, shadows, and an open view of the night wait for them. As a strange sound rises above them, it becomes clear that something about this place—and the sky overhead—is deeply, dangerously wrong.
