B-Side: Definitive Jux Records

There are 4 Elements of Hip Hop.  The mic, the turntable, the breakdance and the spray paint.  There are also 4 elements to Pod Like a Hole.  Marc, Eric, Steve and Ethan Hunt.  

 

In celebration of our next proper episode, a track by track analysis of "Run the Jewels 4", 2 out of those 4 elements (Eric and Steve) present a very special B-Side.  In this bonus episode we look at the solo careers of the Run the Jewels members:  Killer Mike and El-P.  Our focus remains zeroed in on El-P's record label (Def Jux) , where he released most of his solo albums and a slew of unbeatable , underground boom bap MCs.  Def Jux meant more than Eric and Steve can explain to their own development as music fans, but they sure will try.
