The paranormal comedy podcast where we probe the dancing plague. All through history and most famously in Strasbourg, a market town in the Holy Roman Empire during 1518, dancing mania, has struck. The dancing plague has afflicted and possibly been responsible for the death of up to 15 people per day, effecting up to 400 people in total on one occasion over the course of a few months. But what caused it? Some accounts tie the Strasbourg event all back to one person, Frau aka Mrs Troffea. Frau, had the moves and not just like Jagger oh no no for Frau, Electric Slided in to a Time Warp as she showed the town how to Dougie. It turns out that dance is infectious and the town would need to come up with some quite creative ways to stop that plague from spreading. What this doesn’t tell us however is what struck Frau? Was this a saintly curse? A demonic curse? Something altogether more biological in nature? Whatever it was, this plague could hit you so hard that you’d end up in Heavvvvennnnn. We think you’d be in Heavvvveeennnnnnnn. All that and more on this week’s file.

As we discussed the bustling market town you of course will have heard the Market theme from 1998’s The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, followed by part of the End Credits theme, which were composed by Hero of Sound Kōji Kondō for Nintendo. Also composed by Kōji was the Fortune Telling House theme from 1991-1992’s The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. We finished the episode as is often usual with the ‘Staff Roll’ aka credits theme from 1990-1992’s Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, also composed by Kōji Kondō. Between those tunes, you may have noticed the theme from The WB and UPN’s 1997-2003 Buffy the Vampire Slayer courtesy of Nerf Herder. Legendary.
