Sermon #558
We continue to look at Jesus' instructions and encouragement as he sends out the apostles to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God. Last week we ended with warnings about persecution and this week we pick up where we left off. Jesus tells his disciples that they are associated with him, and when he is reviled, they will be too. We see this in the world today, that Christ-followers are persecuted for their beliefs because they represent Christ. We are either of the world or of God, we cannot be both; and so when we choose to acknowledge Christ to the world, we are acting in opposition to the world and its celebration of sin.
