There Ken and his brothers were outsiders and were bullied. This led to troublemaking and drug use. At 13 he was kicked out of his home and was left to fend for himself.

Luckily Ken found himself at Bob Shamrock's boys home. There he found his voice through youth sports programs and turned his life around. The Shamrocks adopted Ken as a teenager.
