In this episode we Skype in Ion "Nuke" Newcombe, publisher of the evergreen Antipodean SF online speculative fiction magazine, which Nuke started back in 1998 when most people were still learning to spell Internet.
In the interview we delve into what exactly is flash fiction, what makes good flash fiction and what kind of flash fiction Nuke likes. We also talk about Nuke's plans for the upcoming 200th edition of Antipodean SF and exactly how a speculative fiction specialist came to have the name Ion.
At the very end of the podcast, Nuke has included an excerpt from his radio program/podcast, where recent Ditmar award winner Zena Shapter reads her flash fiction piece Shy.
The excellent Antipodean SF website, http://www.antisf.com/, is mentioned at the end of the podcast, as is the site where Nuke's podcasts are stored (http://antisf.libsyn.com). Through the interview, Nuke mentions that people are welcome to submit flash fiction. If you want to do that, go to the contact page here http://www.antisf.com.au/contact.
